A bit about me Mascha @ Tjalvas DIY

Hi there! My name is Mascha. Let´s start with the nationality mish-mash first…

I am German, live in Spain and am married to an English man. Quite a mix, right? This is part of the reason why I did not choose to call my blog “Mascha´s DIY”. Spanish have problems writing and pronouncing my name, English struggle writing it and German very often call me “Sascha”… My name originates from Russia and I live in an area with a growing Russian population. I have started to be frightened to say my name, because of the big ? visible in my face when someone then starts to talk to me in Russian. Pretty embarrassing…

Trying to think of a name for my blog, I remembered the name of my favourite character in the D&D we used to play as teenagers. This name surely would still be free. And it was!

So now you know, why this blog is called Tjalva´s DIY.

Why a blog about DIY and recycling?

On the news you see more and more pictures of plastic that ends up in the ocean and destroys precious life. Since years politicians are meeting to discuss environmental problems… Up to yet, I have not seen many results. It seems, that some of us normal people try what we can to avoid destroying our planet.

Time to make a change! With this blog I hope to be able to reach people, so we can start together to change the future of our planet and our children. Together with the other bloggers who have the same aim, I hope we can reach out to more and more people to join in and start a change from the bottom to the top.

What can you expect from this blog?

In my blog, I want to show you all different DIY projects, I have tried myself. I will be working with plastic bags, bottles and bottle tops, pallets, furniture, cans….

Seeing that I have a 7-year old boy, I have included a section for DIY with kids as well to show you, what we have tried out together.

Hopefully you will find lots of inspiration for your own projects! Feel free to share the results either in the comments section of the according post or send them to me by email.

There will also be a library with step by step guides and plans for bigger projects FREE for my subscribers. Plus, at a later point videos as well.

If you like something I made, but don´t want to make it yourself, feel free to contact me to see if I can make it for you.
